Welcome to the Geography Department at Holsworthy Community College.

As a department, we are passionate about educating students about  where places are, what they are like, what life is like in them, and how and why they are changing. To us there is no other subject quite as captivating!

Across Key Stage Three and Four, we aim to deliver inspiring  and challenging  lessons which allow students to discover geography across a range of scales.  Students   will            develop their communication, teamwork  and analytical skills through  active and stimulating lessons based around ICT, fieldwork, problem solving and enquiry based learning.

We believe that the knowledge, skills and attitudes learned in geography can help students  to understand work in other subjects, as well as gain a greater awareness of the changing world around us. We encourage students to see the geography unfold in font of their noses and understand how it can make the world go round!

'you can travel the seas, poles and deserts and see nothing. To really understand the world you need to get under the skin of people and places. In other words, learn geography - we'd all be lost without it'  (Michael Palin)
